If you are Xiaomi fan - you would certainly know that Xiaomi's Mi 8 comes with the feature of unlocking your phone by scanning your face. This feature is called: "IR Face Unlock".
Unfortunately, this option is not available for all countries at the moment, and the developers are working hard to make that happen.
However, we have found a simple and easy way how to enable this super cool feature on your brand new Mi 8.
Steps to enable it:
- Click the 'Settings' icon
- Scroll down to "System & Device" tab and click on "Additional settings"
- Click "Region"
- Scroll down until you find "Hong Kong"
- Click on it and wait couple of seconds
- That's it! You should be seeing the Face Unlock tab now.
Location of the "Face Unlock" menu:
Settings > Lock screen & password > Screen Lock
It should like this:
That's it! You can enjoy unlocking your smartphone with just pointing it at your face. No more boring patterns, PINs or finger-prints.
Keep in mind that there can be potential consequences when changing your Region settings.
